Security forces killed two terrorists during an exchange of fire in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s North Waziristan district, a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Friday.

During the exchange of fire with the terrorists at their hideout in Dargai, some eight kilometres north west of Dattakhel, a soldier also embraced martyrdom, the military’s media wing said.

"As Quick Reaction Force cordoned the area, terrorists opened fire to flee. During the exchange of fire, two terrorists were killed," it added.

According to the ISPR, the martyred soldier, identified as Naik Adil Shahzad a resident of Karer village in Mansehra, is survived by his wife and a son.

In a similar operation last week, security forces killed seven terrorists during in Zakir Khel area of the NW district. Two soldiers also embraced martyrdom in the IBO [intelligence-based operation], according to the ISPR.
