Observe Shab-e-Barat at home, pleads PPP minister
The provincial minister also asked the people to pray for the eradication of the contagion
KARACHI:
Sindh Information Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah appealed to citizens on Tuesday to stay at home on Shab-e-Barat so as to protect themselves against the coronavirus.
The provincial minister also asked the people to pray for the eradication of the contagion and the stability of the country.
"I am sure that Almighty will listen to our prayers and rid us of this pandemic," he said.
The minister said that all religious scholars and clerics agreed that whenever a town, city or country faced an emergency such as a disease outbreak, it was better for people to stay at home.
He also lauded citizens for abiding by lockdown orders and said that the Sindh government was proud of its people. He remarked that if public continued to cooperate with the Sindh government the coronavirus would soon be eradicated.
Speaking about the ration distribution among the needy, he said that although it was a difficult task to ensure that every needy person received assistance, yet, with the help of welfare organisations, the government was making all-out efforts to help them.
