Twitch bans Dan Saltman indefinitely for ‘extreme harassment,’ streamer claims anti-Semitism

Twitch has issued an indefinite ban on Dan Saltman, citing "extreme harassment" as the violation. Known for co-hosting the Anything Else podcast alongside streamer Steven "Destiny," Saltman announced the ban on X.com (formerly Twitter). “This ban for 'extreme harassment' is completely based upon my crusade for those who have been discriminated against by the biased & racist T&S team,” he posted. Saltman further alleged the ban was a reaction to his advocacy efforts, including calls to Congress and advertisers targeting Twitch policies.

Saltman, who does not actively stream on Twitch, is a vocal critic of the platform and its CEO, Dan Clancy. He accused the platform of harboring anti-Semitic content, adding, “Not even Jewish people wanted this ban to be put in place. Ridiculously novice team at @twitch. @djclancy999 needs to step down.”

Recent changes in Twitch's content policy may have influenced the ban. Twitch recently classified using "Zionist" as a slur as a bannable offense. Saltman responded with criticism, claiming, “A very silly decision made mostly because the executive team is absolutely incompetent in every way.”

Saltman’s promotion of a parody website, danclancysucks.com, which he claims exposes Twitch’s alleged biases, may have contributed to the ban. This controversy has reignited debates over Twitch's moderation practices and the impact of its policies on the platform's broader community.
