According to official sources, unidentified armed terrorists opened fire on Frontier Corps personnel when they were inspecting the work of fence erecting along the Iranian border near Mand Redeeg area.
“As a result, two soldiers lost their lives and four others injured,” the sources said, adding that the injured include a senior FC officer. Sources added that the FC personnel responded to the attack after taking positions.
They said that the exchange of fire continued for some time and after that, the terrorists escaped from the scene.
Security forces rushed to the site after the incident and shifted bodies and injured to a nearby health facility, and later shifted injured to Quetta. They have launched a massive search operation in the area to trace out the attackers and took some suspects for interrogation.
