QUETTA: District and Sessions Judge Khuzdar acquitted former Balochistan CM Nawab Sanaullah Zarakzai Zehri, his brother Nawabzada Mir Naimatullah Zarakzai Zehri and bother-in-law Agha Shakeel Ahmed Durrani in a murder case of four people for want of evidence.

They were accused of killing tribal elder and central leader of BNP-M Nawab Amanullah Khan Zarakzai, his grandson and two security guards between the night of August 16 and 17 last year. The deceased were killed in an ambush when they were returning home after attending a dinner party in Khuzdar.

The widow of Zarakzai had nominated Sanaullah, his brother and bother-in-law and 12 others as accused in the murder case of her husband, grandson and security guards.

Khuzdar District and Sessions Judge Jan Mohammad Gohar after hearing arguments from the prosecution and defence acquitted Nawab Sanaullah Zehri, his brother and bother-in-law as prosecution failed to present concrete evidence against them.

Barrister Ali Ahmed Zehri, who represented Nawab Sanaullah Zehri and others in the case, had moved an application before the sessions court under Section 265-k of the Criminal Procedure Code praying for acquittal of his clients.
