Governor visits weather-ravaged areas

Yasinzai met victims and distributed blankets, food items and fodder for animals

QUETTA: Balochistan Governor Amanullah Khan Yasinzai visited the snow and rain affected areas of the province and reviewed the relief efforts being carried out there.

The governor visited Pishin, Qilla Saifullah, Muslim Bagh’s Kahn Mehtarzai and other areas and assessed the damages caused by the harsh weather there.

Pishin Deputy Commissioner Qaim Lashari briefed the governor about the ongoing relief operations in the area.

Yasinzai met the victims and distributed among them blankets, food items and fodder for animals.

Qila Saifullah Deputy Commissioner Dr Atiqur Rehman Shahwani, who was also present on the occasion, apprised the governor about the ongoing relief efforts.

Yasinzai directed the authorities for provision of loaders beside gliders for speedy clearance of thoroughfares.

He expressed his gratitude toward the district administration as well as the FC, NHA, PDMA, Red Crescent and other volunteers for ensuring timely relief to the people in difficult times. He also appreciated MPA Shaheena Kakar for her continuous presence and relief efforts in the weather-ravaged areas.

Yasinzai advised the people to avoid unnecessary travelling in view more rain and snowfall forecast from Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Zhob Commissioner Sohailur Rehman Baloch directed all deputy commissioners of the division to set up emergency control rooms and ordered round-the-clock presence of staff there.
