According to sources, the personnel were recruited in May 2019 in Awaran district to confront security challenges but the provincial government has increased their financial woes by not paying them their salaries.
A Levies spokesperson claimed that the force was managing and controlling the law and order situation in 80 per cent area of Balochistan.
He questioned the government’s claims of strengthening the capacity of Levies force because the provincial government was unable to pay dues of the force.
The spokesperson added that the force was performing duties in order to protect the lives and properties of the people but the government appeared unwilling to address their issues.
“We urge the government to take notice of the situation because non-payment of salaries has worsened financial situation of our houses,” he added.
