NAB files reference against 10 accused

The accused were taken into custody for their alleged involvement in corruption and awarding contracts worth Rs2b

QUETTA: Balochistan National Accountability Bureau filed a reference against  10 people including owners of a fake construction company and officials of Balochistan Integrated Water Resources Management and Development Project (BIWRMDP) for alleged involvement in corruption and awarding contracts worth Rs2 billion, said a press release issued on Friday.

World Bank-funded a project in Balochistan named BIWRMDP. According to NAB, during investigation it was revealed that owners of Ms Gul Construction Company Siraj Khan in connivance with officials of the project fraudulently obtained contracts of Nari Gorge Integrated and Gundach Nurg schemes through fake experience certificates.

The watchdog named the  project director and members of Bidding Evaluation Committee in the reference.
