‘Suspects involved in PIC incident will not go scot-free’

Says clash between lawyers, doctors negatively impacted both departments, projected a bad image of the country

Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar said on Saturday that a clash between lawyers and doctors had negatively impacted both the departments and projected a bad image of the country.

He expressed these views while talking to media persons after inaugurating the two-day Property Exhibition at Expo Centre on Saturday.

He said doctors and lawyers were from respectful professions and the clash between them does not make any sense. He said those involved in this incident would not be spared at all regardless of their affiliation with any party or family.

He said Pakistan has become a secured country for investment adding that he was happy that companies from Dubai, Turkey and other countries were participating in property expo.

He said the participation of these companies was proof that other countries were showing trust in the facilities being provided to the investors in Pakistan.

He further said as far as Financial Action Task Force (FATF) was concerned with the grace of Allah Almighty good news would come in this regard.

He said that his visit to Britain in connection with the extension of GS Plus status was successful and in the meetings which were held with more than 36 members of the European Parliament they assured us of their support.


To a question, he said the protection of hospitals, life and property of people would be ensured.

Later, addressing a youth conference organised by Al-Khidmat Foundation at Aiwan-e-Iqbal, the governor said the youngsters of Pakistan were not less than anybody in terms of intelligence and talent.

He urged the youth to actively take part in welfare works.

He said the bright future of any nation could be judged from the proportion of its youth adding that Pakistan is the 5th largest country having a large number of youngsters.

Later, during a meeting with a delegation of students from Balochistan who arrived here at the Governor's House to meet him, Sarwar said: "I assure you that Punjab is standing with Balochistan as a big brother."

He said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government was working on various projects which were aimed at the progress and prosperity of Balochistan.

He said the present government was providing such platforms to the youngsters of Balochistan under which they would get an opportunity to highlight their hidden capabilities.
