QUETTA: The National Party (NP) has denounced the Balochistan government’s announcement to not allow Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) to hold its ‘Azadi march’ in the province.

“By not granting the permission to stage a protest, Balochistan government has shown that it’s afraid of the JUI-F’s anti-government march,” the party said in a statement the other day.

The NP also said: “The government and its allies have been suppressing the public’s democratic and political rights… disobeying Pakistan’s democratic rules.”

The party alleged that Balochistan chief minister and home minister were “powerless” as provincial decisions were being taken in Islamabad.

The NP leadership said political parties and the masses have the right to demonstrate.
