Citizen’s concern: Plea to produce Dost Khosa’s wife, daughter
A petition was filed in the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday demanding the recovery of Zeba Khan alias Sapna Khan, the ‘missing’ wife of former Punjab chief minister Sardar Dost Muhammad Khosa.
The petition, filed by Advocate Muhammad Azhar Siddique, referred to a July 7 newspaper report which said that Khan had been detained and her baby daughter snatched from her. He said that the report had not been denied which suggested that it was authentic.
Advocate Siddique said that the police was reluctant to take any action because of the strong influence of the Khosa family.
He requested the judge to issue orders Khan and her daughter to be brought to court to prove that they were both safe.
He also asked the court to direct the police to register a case against those involved in ‘abducting’ Khan.
According to the news report published in an Urdu daily, Khan was last seen at her official residence in GOR being beaten up by some of Khosa’s friends and pushed into a car.
It said that Khan was being sent to live in Khosa’s private residence in Johar Town, but she had not wanted to leave the official residence. The report said that the men had also snatched the daughter from her.
Adviser to the chief minister Sirdar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa, Dost Khosa’s father, told The Express Tribune, that there was not truth to the report.
He said that Khan and her daughter were safe at their house in Lahore, while his son was in Dera Ghazi Khan. He said that the report was based on a mere allegation. “We do not bother ourselves with such baseless stories,” he said.
