CDA demolishes 570 illegal structures

ISLAMABAD: In its ongoing drive against encroachment in the city, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Thursday conducted a mega anti-encroachment operation against illegal construction and encroachment on state land in the vicinity of Bari Imam and demolished 570 shops, sheds, ovens (Tandoor).

The operation was conducted by Enforcement Directorate of CDA while assistance was provided by the District Administration and ICT Police.

CDA takes action against encroachments

During the operation which started from Muslim Colony Road towards University heavy machinery was utilised for demolishing and removing illegal constructions and encroachments. Furthermore, during the operation, the staff of Enforcement Directorate, CDA demolished shops which were constructed adjacent to the wall of Bari Imam shrine while they also removed and demolished encroachments on state land from Bari Iman Bazaar.

Outcry over anti-encroachment drive in Balochistan

During another operation conducted for the removal of encroachment. Teams of Enforcement Directorate removed the encroachment from both sides of the roads and pathways from University to Mohallah Jajaar in the area of Bari Imam.

230 illegal shops, 315 sheds and 25 ovens (Tandoor) were removed from the valuable state land and retrieved a possession from the encroachers.
