LAHORE: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Faisalabad has taken strict action against the corrupt administration of the city bus terminal.

An FIR has been registered against Faisalabad City Terminal Assistant Administrator Habibullah, City Terminal Inspector Mohammad Shafiq, Superintendent Amanullah and 12 other officials on the allegations of corruption and negligence. At least seven of them have been arrested.

Locals complained that the administration was receiving bribes from transporters, allowing them to overcharge consumers without any restriction. Further, they were also receiving money from the owners of canteens established at the terminal.

It was also alleged that the administration is embezzling money under the guise of hiring daily wage employees. ACE arrested Mohammad Shafique, Mohammed Gulfam, Rahman Ali, Mohammad Yasir, Ghulam Mustafa, Mohammad Iqbal and Qaisar Sajjad on the charges of corruption and overcharging.
