Lahore to have 100 schools for out-of-school children

the proposal for setting up of mobile schools is also being considered to increase the literacy rate

LAHORE: The Punjab government is all set to open 100 new primary schools for out-of-school children in Lahore.

These primary schools will be opened in rented buildings and at such places where there is no school in nearby areas. Out-of-school children will be enrolled at these schools.

Moreover, the proposal for setting up of mobile schools is also being considered to increase the literacy rate.

Initially, mobile schools will be set up in 10 buses where education will be provided to the children working in business areas.

Approximately Rs260 million will be spent on both programmes.

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar said that 100 new schools and mobile schools will be opened soon. He said that providing quality education to the children is the responsibility of the state.
