RAWALPINDI: Heads rolled at the end of probe against awarding of extra marks to the son of a minister.

A head examiner was axed along with three officials of the secrecy department on suspicion of being whistleblowers. Rawalpindi Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (RBISE) Chairman Ghulam Dastagir ordered termination of services of Prof Saleem Ramzan and three officials of board’s secrecy branch under Punjab Employees Efficiency, Discipline and Accountability (PEEDA) Act while show-cause notices for this purpose have been issued to all individuals.

Ramzan confessed to granting extra marks to Fahad Chohan, son of Punjab Minister for Colonies Fayaz Chohan.

In this regard, the RBISE Spokesperson Arsalan Cheema said that head examiner confessed that he committed a mistake of awarding grace marks to Fahad.

He added that examiner maintained that he had done it himself, without any pressure or financial benefit. Cheema said that Saleem had pleaded an unconditional apology from the board for his act.

Further, the result card of Fahad, with 14 marks in physics practical examination, has been sent to his school as well as uploaded on board’s website.
