Dr Khan said that agriculture is the backbone of the economy that is contributing around 19% to the gross domestic product.

At the time of inception of the country, the total population was 35 million which has now reached 200 million, he said, adding that it is the agriculture sector which is meeting the increasing demand for food of the population.
Speaking on the occasion, faculty of Agricultural Engineering Dean Dr Allah Buksh said that we can’t compete with the rest of the world without having modern facilities.
