PESHAWAR: Raani, a transvestite and Iqbal, Raani’s alleged would-be husband on Friday said that they want asylum abroad as they do not feel secure in Pakistan anymore.

On May 24, Peshawar Police had arrested 45 people including Raani, also known as Kashif, a resident of Shabqadar and Malik Mohammad Iqbal, from Dalazak Road area, saying that they were contracting marriage.

After the bail was granted, Almas Bobby, President of Shemale Rights of Pakistan, along with 30 transvestites staged a demonstration in favour of the judiciary and strongly condemned the police for harassing transvestites.
