35,200 saplings planted in city so far

The target is to plant 200,000 saplings in the metropolis

LAHORE: The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) have planted 35,200 saplings in the provincial capital under the ‘Clean and Green Pakistan’ campaign, said sources on Thursday.

The saplings have been planted in different areas across the city. The target is to plant 200,000 saplings in the metropolis. As many as 11,100 saplings have been planted on both sides of the canal.

According to details, 1,000 jambolan saplings have been planted from Dharampura to Mughalpura, 2,000 palkan saplings from Harbancepura to Jallo, 300 kachnar plants from Lalpul to Harbancepura and 800 nishter plants from Harbancepura to Kheerapul-BRB. Further, 500 neem plants and 500 amaltas were planted from Dharampura to Ferozpur Road.

Moreover, 600 amaltas, 500 mango trees and 500 gulmohar plants have been planted from Ferozpur Road to Jinnah Underpass. In addition, 1,000 amaltas have been planted from Jinnah Underpass to Thokar Niaz Baig along with 1,400 jambolan plants.
