Village in mourning on soyem of plane crash victims

Tents were installed and hundreds of chairs were placed near the site of the incident

RAWALPINDI: The soyem of the civilian plane crash victims was held in Islamabad on Wednesday.

Muhammad Khan and Abdul Hameed lost nine members of their joint family when a trainee aircraft of Army Aviation crashed into their house in the Kantrali Village of Mora Kalu on the night of July 29.

The three other deceased belonged Muhammad Jamil's family who were living in the adjacent house and two from Shamsuddin’s shanty.

The whole village was in mourning and people from near and far came to offer prayers and recite the Holy Quran for the victims. For this purpose, tents were installed and hundreds of chairs were placed near the site of the incident.

Volunteers kept distributing cold water and food. The soyem was arranged by the Bahria Town authorities on the directions of Malik Riaz.
