D I KHAN: Police have arrested the prime suspect wanted into the police in a number of cases of child rape in Serai Naurang area of Lakki Marwat. The suspect’s latest victim, a 10-year old girl, had given some leads to the local police. SHO Zaheer Khan has told The Express Tribune that police have arrested the suspect, identified as Jalal, in a targeted operation. He was wanted to police in a number of rape cases in the district for the past many months, SHO Zaheer said. He said a tip-off from an informer led to Jalal’s arrest besides the information provided by his victim. The child has been shifted to the Lady Reading Hospital, Peshawar. Earlier this week in Haripur, A local prayer leader has confessed to assaulting an 11-year old girl during interrogation, Hattar police station confirmed on Saturday. Hattar police had picked up Qari Qammar Abbas and his friend Waqas on a complaint of the victim’s mother. During initial interrogation, the Qari and his friend confessed to sexually abusing the child at various incidents for over a month.
