Sindh AG inaugurates pension centres
To facilitate retired employees of the Sindh government and their families
KARACHI:
Sindh Accountant-General Ghufran Memon inaugurated Sindh Pension Centres at district accounts offices in Ghotki, Sukkur, Khairpur and Naushero Feroz on Thursday. The centres have been established to provide a one-window operation for the facilitation of retired employees of the Sindh government and their families. Currently, 21 Pension Centres are providing facilities to pensioners all over the province. Now, only one Sindh Pension Centre at Hyderabad district accounts office remains to be inaugurated, which will be inaugurated on May 9. Memon said that his vision was to provide all the emoluments to the pensioners right on the day of their retirement. He added, “Under the new online Direct Credit System (DCS), pensioners are getting their payments directly to their bank accounts”. He expressed pleasure that nearly 90% of the pensioners in Sindh were now using DCS. Memon said that from the next financial year, the Sindh AG will start paying 65% of the anticipatory pension if the complete pension cases were not submitted by the departments. He further apprised that Sindh General Provident Fund Centres have been established by the finance department and would be inaugurated on May 9.
