Balochistan NAB pursued 20 corruption cases in first quarter of 2019

Report states 12 absconders were also apprehend during first three months

QUETTA: Balochistan's National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Sunday released its first quarterly report of the year stating that the anti-corruption watchdog has so far pursued 20 cases of corruption in Balochistan during the first three months of 2019.

“During the first three months of 2019 NAB Balochistan submitted six references against corrupt officers belonging to the Irrigation, Finance and Education departments while also initiated over 20 investigations over public complaints” stated the NAB report.

The report further mentioned that 13 references were sent to the concerned departments over corruption allegations while 12 absconders involved in corruption were also apprehended during the first quarter of 2019.

Vowing to fully purge out the menace of corruption, DG NAB Balochistan Muhammad Abid Javed assured that no one would be allowed to loot public money and government resources.

“Action against corrupt elements is being carried out across the province without any indiscrimination and with public support progress has been made against corruption in the province,” he said adding the accountability courts have also sentenced many accused.

The DG NAB further informed the body received more than 200 complaints and after scrutinising the applications, the bureau has launched investigation over 20 important cases.
