QUETTA: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Balochistan Director General Mohammad Abid Javed has said transparency and greater accountability are vital for continuity of the development process under way in Balochistan.

“Lack of accountability always corrodes respect for the justice system,” said the NAB provincial chief while addressing complaints during an open court held at his office on Thursday.

“NAB is committed to eradicate corruption through its holistic approach,” said Javed, vowing to bring all elements involved in looting national wealth to justice.

“NAB Balochistan is strictly following Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal’s vision of across-the-board accountability,” said Javed. “Action will be taken against those who loot national wealth and cheat public at large for their own vested interests.”

On the directives of NAB Chairman Javed Iqbal, the NAB Balochistan DG held an open court during which a large number of complainants visited the bureau and submitted complaints against government functionaries, departments and private individuals.

NAB Balochistan DG calmly listened to all of the complaints and issued on spot orders on various complaints.

He assured the complainants that in light of the documented proof in various cases strict action would be taken to provide relief to the affectees and recover the looted national wealth.

It is pertinent to mention that open courts would be held on the last Thursday of every month.
