QUETTA: Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) leader Nawabzada Lashkari Raisani has alleged that doctors are being kidnapped under a conspiracy aimed at disturbing the law and order situation in the province.

During a visit on Saturday to a camp of doctors protesting against a colleague’s kidnapping, the BNP-M leader said a specific mindset was working in Balochistan to create divisions among ethnic groups that were living with peace and harmony for decades.

Raisani said, “Doctors’ kidnapping in broad daylight and target killings of innocent people in the name of sect and language increased the sense of insecurity among masses.” And the rulers have been busy in blaming each other, he added.

He said that because of the absence of rule of law, drug peddlers and smugglers have become rich and Afghan refugees have complete impunity in the province. “Our young generation is being killed silently on city’s streets through the menace of drug addiction,” he lamented.

Raisani stressed the need for unity among all ethnic and religious communities living in Balochistan to counter all conspiracies perpetrated in Balochistan for spoiling peace.

The chairman of the Balochistan Peace Forum expressed his full support for the protesting doctors and assured the kidnapped Dr Ibrahim Khalil’s family of his party’s full support.
