
The chief guest on the occasion was Hussain Dawood who is the founder and chairperson of the Karachi School of Business and Leadership.
He also serves as chairperson of the boards of Engro Corporation and Dawood Hercules Corporation Limited.
400 students awarded degrees in different disciplines
Chancellor Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho opened the convocation and Academics Vice-President Prof Altaf Mukati conferred degrees on 528 undergraduate students, 540 masters students and one PhD student from the disciplines of management sciences, social sciences, education, media sciences, bioscience, mechatronics engineering and computer science. This is the highest number of degree recipients from Szabist's Karachi Campus in its 23-year old history.
11 gold medals were awarded to recipients, Maria Ahmed (BS Biosciences), Sidra Shaukat (BBA), Ghulam Hussain Banatwala (MBA), Fabeha Feroze Mani (MS Computer Science), Nobia Fatima (BS Computer Science), Hira Altaf (BS Biosciences), Koonj Altaf (MS Social Science), Abdul Basit (BE Mechatronics), Humza Aslam (BS Social Science), Syeda Sana Zaidi (MS Educational Leadership and Management) and Hamna Iqbal Baig (Bachelor of Media Sciences).

Nine silver medals were also awarded. Their recipients were Fatima Zakria (Bachelor of Arts in Business Studies), Muhammad Nialish bin Alam (Bachelor of Media Science), Muhammad Rehan Khan (Executive MBA), Muhammad Yaseen (MBA Banking and Finance), Summaiya Ansari (Master of Advertising), Saher Aijaz (Master of Public Health), Iqbal Hussain Burcha (MS-Project Management), Neha Farid (MS Biosciences) and Asadullah (MS Educational Leadership & Management).
94 students' names have also been placed on the "Chancellor's Honour List" for securing a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) equal to or higher than 3.50.
The convocation ceremony was attended by over 3,500 people, including the varsity's board of governors, board of trustees, management, faculty, staff, graduates, parents, educationists, guests, print and electronic media and supportive partners.
