Pakistan committed to provide security to all Chinese nationals: FM Qureshi

Minister calls Chinese counterpart; Wang Yi appreciates quick, prompt and effective action of security forces

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi called Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi and assured him of providing robust security to all Chinese nationals.

"Foreign Minister apprised the State Councilor of the details of the attack and highlighted the prompt action of Pakistani law enforcement officials," read an official statement.

The two countries, he assured, will continue to cooperate to thwart the designs of hostile forces against their time-tested friendship.

Qureshi also informed Wang Yi about the martyrdom of two security officials that helped in a quick resolution of the crisis.

The minister assured the state councilor that a thorough investigation will be carried out to apprehend the perpetrators their financiers, planners and facilitators.

Yi strongly condemned the terrorist attack, and appreciated the quick, prompt and effective action of Pakistan security and law enforcement forces who sacrificed their lives to protect the Chinese consulate.

He said that the terrorist attack was an attempt to impact Pakistan China relations and to harm CPEC [China-Pakistan Economic Corridor]. He stressed that Pakistan-China brotherhood was clad in iron and such cowardly attacks could not affect it.
