LAHORE:

An additional district and sessions judge on Wednesday directed the Batapur police station house officer (SHO) to register a case against an assistant sub inspector (ASI) for illegally occupying a house and harassing its owner.

Petitioner Malik Ashraf Abbas told Judge Malik Mubeen Ahmed that ASI Munir Ahmed had forged documents to claim ownership of his house, which the policeman had been renting. The petitioner said that he had asked Ahmed to vacate the house as he owed him Rs108,000 in rent.

The ASI, he said, had responded by preparing forged ownership documents and blackmailing the petitioner. He said the ASI had threatened to kill him in a staged police encounter. He said that the SHO concerned had refused to register a case and asked the court to direct him to do so.
