KARACHI:

DIG Sanaullah Abbasi will be heading the murder investigation of the former Sindh Bar Council vice chairman, Ali Muhammad Dahri, who was killed in Nawabshah on April 28.

A Sindh High Court division bench, comprising Chief Justice Mushir Alam and Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi, appointed DIG Sanaullah as the inquiry officer in the target killing case on Wednesday.

The bench was hearing a suo motu case converted into a constitutional petition on the request of Sindh High Court Bar Association. The association claimed that the police station was not taking interest in solving the case.

On Wednesday, the bench examined the investigation papers and found that no headway was made. Only very little or no investigation was carried out by the investigating officer - a sub-inspector of the police, the bench observed.

Abbasi will submit a report in two weeks.
