“We also need to work for the future of humanity,” he said while speaking at the inaugural session of the 2nd International Conference on Computing, Electronic and Electrical Engineering (ICE Cube) organised by BUITEMS in Quetta on Monday.
Speaking about the two-day event, the VC said the ICE Cube is a flagship event of the university meant for initiating intellectual discourse throughout the province. He expressed the hope that the moot would prove to be an important breakthrough towards achieving sustainable growth.

Bazai said that the BUITEMS would also work as a hub in achieving United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goal eight.
Addressing the conference, National University of Science and Technology (NUST) Prof Dr Shoaib Khan said the government’s announcement for automation of services is a ‘good omen’.
“Pakistan needs to work hard for achieving a significant place amongst technologically-advanced countries in the world,” he said. “For this, the country needs to introduce outcome-based learning in the fields of artificial intelligence, machine language, cyber security, big data, cloud computing, robotics, and automation.”
Pakistan could learn from the experiences of the United Arab Emirates as well, he added.
Briefing about the conference, Dean Faculty of Information and Communication Technology Dr Faisal Kakar said ICE Cube is a biennial conference series initiated by the BUITEMS in technical collaboration with the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), USA.

He said that the ICE Cube represents a conclave of researchers and professionals excited about ground-breaking technologies in the field of computing, electronic and electrical engineering.
The conference has welcomed people from all around the world discussing a wide spectrum of advanced technologies. It would unveil a roadmap and techniques to address the key issues faced by the nation with a special focus on e-governance, energy, information and communication security, mining of public-sector data for meaningful analysis and policy making, e-education, and green technologies.
During the conference, 13 speakers from five different countries including USA, China, Malaysia, Iran and Pakistan would share their knowledge.
The speakers include Dr Fahad Dogar from Tufts University, USA; Dr Mojtaba Joodaki from Firdowsi University, Iran; Dr Jin Huang from Tsinghua University, China; Dr Ihsan Ayyub Qazi from Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS); and Dr Bhawani Shankar Chowdhry from Mehran UET, Jamshoro.
They also include Dr Syed Ali Hassan from NUST, Islamabad; Dr Zartash Afzal Uzmi from LUMS; Dr Shoaib Ahmad Khan from NUST, Islamabad; Dr Maryam Mustafa from Information Technology University (ITU), Lahore; Dr Ali Ahmed from ITU; Dr Haider Ali from UET; Dr Juliza Binti Jamaludin from Universiti Sains Islam, Malaysia; and Jemmy Bin Mohd Rohani from Universiti Sains Islam, Malaysia.
As many as 51 research papers will be presented during the conference.
