QUETTA: Senator Jahanzaib Jamaldini has said the federal government has clearly violated the 18th amendment of Constitution by neglecting Government of Balochistan and provincial representatives while inking deals with foreign countries on provincial resources.

In a statement on Thursday, the Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) leader said “The Chinese have reservations on making Saudi Arabia as third partner in China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC)”.

He said the government’s step was against the accord signed under CPEC and this has weakened our relations with the “only trusted country”.

The BNP-M leader urged the government to take decisions independently without coming under influence of other countries.

Taking a jibe at government for ignoring provincial leadership, he questioned does the federal government has any documentary proof regarding meeting with provincial government.

“We are not against development and always paid respect to the Saudi monarchy. But we can’t tolerate Center’s behaviour of neglecting the provincial government and Baloch leadership while taking future decisions of our people.”

Talking on Pakistan’s role in mediation between Saudi Arabia and Yemen, Jamaldini said the government should play its role in appeasing the war between two countries but should refrain from gifting country’s land for another proxy war [Riyadh and Tehran].
