Man awarded life term in murder case in Sargodha

The court also imposes a fine of Rs700,000 that would be given to the victim's family

SARGODHA: Additional Sessions Judge Javed Iqbal Ranjha awarded life sentence to a man for killing a person in Sargodha. The prosecution told the court that accused Mudassir Iqbal shot dead Tabassum Iqbal over a dispute three years ago.

However, the police arrested him and submitted a challan in the court. After hearing witnesses, the judge awarded life imprisonment to Mudassir. In addition, the court imposed a fine of Rs700,000 that would be given to the heirs of the deceased. The convict will have to undergo an additional six months imprisonment if he failed to pay the penalty. Earlier, Additional District and Sessions Judge Ikramul Haq awarded life imprisonment to a convict for killing a man.
