The Supreme Court on Monday directed the interior ministry to place the alleged land grabber Mansha Bomb and his sons on the Exit Control List (ECL).

A three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar directed authorities to vacate all land in possession of Mansha Group. The bench was hearing a suo moto case regarding Mansha's arrest.

Expressing displeasure over interference in police affairs by elected representatives, Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar on Sunday likened them to ‘thugs’.

Justice Nisar further said that all occupied land land grabbers in the province should be vacated.

The top judge noted that it had, a day earlier, ordered to vacate the land of a woman occupied 60 years ago, and stressed that it is a duty of the state to make sure that no one could occupy any land illegally.

Subsequently, the bench directed authorities to arrest Mansha Bomb and sought unconditional apology from MNA Karamat Ali Khokhar and MPA Nadeem Abbas for their alleged interference in the matter.

The two lawmakers submitted an unconditional apology to the court which was accepted by the bench.

The suo moto notice was taken when the chief justice knew that a land grabbing group was operating in Lahore's Johar Town and some politicians interfering to avoid their arrest.
