KARACHI: The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) has urged the government to develop and implement policies for creating a favourable business environment for prospective entrepreneurs.

"This will give a fresh impetus to Pakistan's economic growth through greater inflow of domestic and foreign investment," it said.

In a statement, FPCCI Acting President Chaudhry Javed Iqbal said these policy reforms should focus on creating conditions that would enable enterprises to grow and compete globally. He said tax relief on the import of machinery and one-window facility for the facilitation of investors would definitely encourage potential businessmen.

The acting president pointed out that industrialisation required long-term financing usually from the private sector and as such there was a need to take the business community on board while framing economic policies.
