With around 300 cusecs of water also being discharged through seepages, the total amount of water being discharged daily is more than 1,100 cusecs.
Land routes to Gulmat, Shishkat, Aian Abad, Hussaini, Zahir Abad and Khurram Abad have been flooded.
The government is providing food and health facilities to all those affected by the lake crisis, while a boat service has also been started for displaced residents. Affectees were due to receive compensatory cheques today, but owing to bad weather, the ceremony has been postponed until Thursday.
Chief Minister Gilgit Baltistan Syed Mehdi Shah, Governor Punjab Salman Taseer and Chairman Bait-ul-Mal Zamurd Khan were scheduled to attend the ceremony.
Aid distributed among affectees
The Federal Minister for Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan Affairs has said that a grant of Rs365 million has been distributed among the affectees of Hunza disaster.
Addressing a press conference in Hunza, Manzoor Wattoo said the grant included food and basic commodities of daily use.
He added that cheques of Rs100,000 each have also been distributed among the affectees of Gulmit and Shashkit.
About the accomodation of IDPs, the minister said over 12,000 people are living in camps while more than 7,000 people are living with their relatives.
