QUETTA: Members of the Balochistan Assembly on Tuesday condemned the anti-Pakistan statements by Indian Army chief Bipin Rawat, warning New Delhi that Pakistan’s peace efforts should not be considered a sign of weakness.

Balochistan Awami Party’s (BAP) minority MPA Dinesh Kumar criticised Rawat for his aggressive remarks against Pakistan.

“Our prime minister tried to foster peace with India because we want brotherly relations with our neighbors,” he said. “I warn India not to consider our wish for peace as our weakness,” he added.

The MPA said, “Pakistan is a peace-loving country and the people of Balochistan, including the minorities, are standing with our armed forces”.

Chairing the assembly session, Deputy Speaker Sardar Babar Musakhel condemned India for cancelling the scheduled dialogue between the foreign ministers of the two countries.

Jamhoori Wattan Party (JWP) MPA Nawabzada Gohram Bugti lauded the sacrifices of the armed forces and said, “The whole nation is on the same page” against the Indian aggression.

“The Indian army chief’s statement has exposed India’s vicious face before the entire world,” he said.  “We don’t want war with our neighbours, but if it comes down to that then the whole nation will fight alongside the armed forces,” he added.
