Residents stage protest against eviction order by LHC

Demand the LHC Chief Justice to constitute a full bench to hear the matter

LAHORE: Scores of people took to streets on Wednesday against an interim order of the Lahore High Court (LHC) on eviction of the residents from the area adjacent to Miani Sahib graveyard.

The protestors demanded of the LHC Chief Justice to constitute a full bench to hear the matter and the land of graveyard be demarcated before the demolition of their residents.

Lahore accountability court extends Fawad’s remand

The protesters Fakhar Shah, Muhammad Siddique, Asad Khan and their lawyers Shahid Maqbool Shaikh, Safdar Shaheen Prizada, Rana Rizwan and others staged a protest.

The lawyers claimed the LHC could not hand in a decision over ownership of properties by holding summary trials.

The protesters expressing gloom over their pathetic situation and said the LHC had initiated ex parte proceedings and they had not been given the right of appeal against the decisions.
