Code 4F runway capable of handling Airbus A380 aircraft

KARACHI:

Secretary of Defence Lieutenant General (retd) Muhammad Ali on Saturday inaugurated the newly reconstructed main runway 07L/25R at Jinnah International Airport, said a spokesperson for the Pakistan Airports Authority.

Additional Secretary of Defence Major General Qaiser Suleman also attended the ceremony.

PAA Director General Air Vice Marshal Zeeshan Saeed, Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority Director General Nadir Shafi Dar, Deputy DG (Works & Development) Sameer Saeed, Project Director Hafiz Zahid Ishaq, Director Planning & Development, Airport Manager Adnan Khan, and other senior officials were also present.

The Code 4F runway is fully capable of handling Airbus A380 aircraft and was completed within 18 months in accordance with Annex 14 standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization, without any delays, additional costs, claims, or accidents.

Addressing the ceremony, the defense secretary said the project reflects Pakistan's professional capability, discipline, and ability to deliver infrastructure in line with international standards. He praised the PAA leadership, engineers, experts, and all associated teams, stating that completing a world-class project within the stipulated time and cost is a matter of national pride.

During the ceremony, commemorative shields were presented to the secretary of defence and the additional secretary. The secretary also awarded special honorary shields to the PAA DG, CAA DG Nadir Shafi Dar and others in recognition of their exemplary services.
