Removal of parking stands ordered on Mall Road
Justice Akbar makes clear that no one would be allowed to occupy the state land
LAHORE:
Justice Ali Akbar Qureshi of the Lahore High Court (LHC) ordered the removal of all illegal parking stands at both the Mall Road and the Hall Road giving remarks that they would not let anyone occupy the state land. Justice Akbar commenced proceedings on a petition filed seeking removal of illegal parking stands which cause heavy traffic jam but also causing nuisance for the pedestrians. The Hall Road Association President Shabir Lubha appeared before the court contending that the association had not given approval to any parking stands on roads. Justice Akbar made clear that no one would be allowed to occupy the state land. Meanwhile, Justice Akbar ordered removal of all illegal parking stands on the aforementioned roads with directive to the parking company to acquire land immediately for the parking of motorcycles. The LHC judge warned legal action would be taken against those found involved in parking of motorcycles on footpath of the Mall Road.
