Punjab CM lauds Independence Day arrangements

Dr Askari says all departments worked hard to provide fool proof security

LAHORE: The cabinet committee on law and order, the administration and police officials have worked hard to provide fool proof security to citizens, said Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Hasan Askari on Wednesday.

Askari expressed his satisfaction over security arrangements for various public functions held across the city. He also extended his good wishes to the cabinet committee on law and order, police and other law enforcement agencies for their exemplary performance.

“The provincial administration, police and other line departments worked tirelessly on August 14 so that the people could celebrate Independence Day,” he said. “They deserve accolades for their hard work and dedication.”

The caretaker CM added that as a result, the overall security situation remained under control in the province. ”It is satisfying that the people celebrated Independence Day in a peaceful manner with zeal and fervour.’

Dr Askari continued that the administration worked proactively to protect the life and the property of people. “The government machinery worked like a unified team to maintain law and order on Independence Day. With the joint efforts of the department, August 14 remained peaceful and tranquil,” he stated.

The CM said the cabinet committee for law and order worked efficiently to maintain the best security arrangements in the province. Similarly, different departments also remained coordinated with each other and the administration, the police and other law enforcement agencies.

“The teamwork they exhibited is praiseworthy. We have to work with the same zeal and commitment in the future,” he concluded.
