Boys clinch top slots in matric exam

RAWALPINDI: Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISER) on Saturday announced the result of Secondary School Certificate (SSC), Matriculation annual Examination 2018 while boys outshine girls in the exams as out of overall top three positions, first two were clinched by male students.

Talal Bin Tariq of Cadet College Hassanabdal, Attock, roll number 104906, secured first position with 1,087 marks and Abdul Haseeb Arshad from Bahria Foundation Secondary School for Boys, Pindi Road Chakwal, Roll no 113246, secured 1,081 marks with second position while third position was secured by Adina Aisha of Govt Girls High School Number-I, Chakwal, Roll number 110598 with 1079.

Matric Position holders to be announced today 

BISER Secretary Dr Tanveer Zafar announcing the results at Rawalpindi Arts Council informed that 124,054 students were enrolled while 122,726 candidates appeared in the exams and 95,189 were declared successful with 77.57 pass percentage.

At least 27,313 students failed in the exams while 1,088 remained absent. Dr Zafar said that 11,379 students got A plus grade, 16,435 got A grade, 25644 got B, 27,736 passed with a C, 13,487 with a D and only 508 cleared the matric with an E grade.

He said that total of 66,652 boys and 56,074 girls appeared in the SSC exams. The secretary said that 94,040 were regular candidates and 30,014 were private students while regular candidates' pass percentage remained 84.47 and private students' percentage was 55.43.

Matriculation examination results announced

In regular science group, a total of 68,074 boys and girls sat the exam and of them 59,938 candidates passed with a pass percentage of 88.05.

In science group for boys, Talal bin Tariq topped with first position, Haseeb Arshad stood second while Ahmed Sohail roll number 144105, student of Lawrence College Ghora Ghali clinched third position with 1,078 marks.

Similarly, in Science Group for Girls, Adina Aisha secured first position, Aroba Javed Iqbal, roll number 125931, student of Fauji Foundation Model Secondary School for Girls, Sanghori Mandra, secured second position with 1,078 marks while Syeda Salia Haider Shah, roll number 109158, student of Munir Public Girls High School Chakwal stood third in the group with 1,076 marks.

In General Science Group for boys, Shehryar Ali Khan Shabbir, roll number 941129, student of Govt MC Islamia Higher Secondary School Jhelum secured first position with 986 marks. Qasim Hussain, student of Rehmania Rizvia, Sohawa, stood second with 938 marks while Younas Khan clinched third position securing 932 marks.

Similarly, in General Science Group for Girls, Ramisha Shahzadi Ilyas, student of Govt Girls High School Number-I, Jhelum got first position. Safrina Bibi Ahmed Roll Number 903065, student of Govt Girls High School, Chura Sharif got second position with 1,009 marks and Zaneera Kalsoom Sadiq, student of Govt MC Girls High School, Gujar Khan declared third in the group with 1,005 marks.
