LAHORE: More than 50,000 candidates took the combined entry test for BSc engineering and BSc engineering technology programmes were held across Punjab on Sunday.
The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) organised the combined entry test for candidates applying to different engineering universities.
Around 13 test centres were established in different cities across Punjab, including Lahore and Islamabad. The centres were established in different areas of the province to facilitate the maximum number of candidates, said the UET spokesperson.
Out of the 50,000 candidates, 13,387 of the candidates took the test in Lahore, 8,000 in Multan, 6,450 in Islamabad, 5,544 in Faisalabad, 3,251 in Taxila, 3,158 in Kala Shah Kaku, 3,095 in Sahiwal, 2,757 in Gujrat, 1,875 in Rahim Yar Khan, 1,756 in Bahawalpur, 800 in Mianwali and 528 in Rasul.
Addressing the media, UET Vice Chancellor Dr Fazal Ahmad Khalid said that merit, secrecy and transparency have been ensured during the examination, while necessary arrangements for the security and candidates has also been made.
