HYDERABAD: Two workers of the Sindh Taraqi Pasand Party (STP) were whisked away in Mirpurkhas district on Saturday from outside a local court where they had gone to attend a hearing. One of them, Zeeshan Jiskani, is the brother of STP central leader, Altaf Jiskani, and the other, Mehboob Samo, is a local leader of the party in Tando Allahyar district.

Afzal Jiskani, Zeeshan's brother, informed the local media about the incident. He claimed that both his brother and Samo were not involved in any anti-state activity and were only political workers. "It's very sad that they were picked up outside the court," Afzal said.

Campaign to bring missing persons back home gains momentum

The families of both persons and the STP appealed to the Supreme Court to take notice of the enforced disappearances and issue orders for their safe recovery. A protest was also held following the alleged enforced disappearances.

Separately, campaigners under the banner of the Voice for Missing Persons of Sindh started a seven-day hunger strike outside the Hyderabad Press Club on Sunday. Families of missing persons and civil society activists are participating in the hunger strike.
