An explosion near Mand in Kech district on Friday killed two security personnel and left two others wounded.
According to sources, a vehicle of the Frontier Corps was on a routine patrol near Surkoh Koh when it hit a landmine.
As a result of the explosion that followed, two security personnel died on the spot.
“The vehicle was carrying rations for the security personnel deputed at nearby checkposts when the explosion took place,” an official said.
The security personnel reached the site soon after the incident and transferred the bodies and the injured to a hospital where the deceased were identified as Lance Nike Usman and Nike Abdul Razzaq, and the injured as Riaz and Rashid.
However, there was no Frontier Corps official available for comment.
Meanwhile, no group claimed responsibility for the attack till the filing of this report.
