Official sources suggested that at least six people, including women and children, have died of gastroenteritis during the last one week in the area.
"We are sending teams of doctors to the affected areas of Awaran to provide medical treatment to the people," said Kalat division commissioner.

Meanwhile, the Inter-Services Public Relations statement confirmed the epidemic affecting a large number of people.
It said the army special relief and rescue operation has been launched in the affected areas of Awaran district on the request of the provincial government.
Special army medical teams have reached Awaran and are treating patients. Special helicopters have evacuated a large number of gastro patients from Tranchik area of Awaran to Hub for better treatment.
In addition, around thousand litres of drinking water, mosquito nets, ration packets, water tanks and hygiene kits have also been distributed among the local people.
