Sindh police plan major reshuffling ahead of elections

A notification regarding transfers and postings is likely to be issued in the coming week

KARACHI: The Sindh police has reportedly planned a massive reshuffle in the department before the coming general elections. Transfers and postings of several senior police officers are expected in the near future.

Sources privy to the matter disclosed that police officials have planned a massive reshuffle in the department from top to bottom, especially of BPS-20 police officers. They also revealed that consultations were under way between the police department and provincial government in this regard.

The transfers and postings of the senior officers will reportedly occur in two phases.

In the first phase, many officers serving as zonal and range chiefs will be transferred and posted, including the DIGs of Larkana, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, East and West zones of Karachi, Traffic, Special Branch and Crime Investigation Agency.

It has been revealed that a notification regarding the transfers and postings in the first phase is likely to be issued in the coming week. The transfers of officers of other ranks throughout the department will be made in the second phase.
