Talking to newsmen on Saturday, he said, “Neither have I joined BAP nor do I have any such plans.” Former speaker Bhootani was elected twice from Lasbela as member of the Balochistan Assembly as an independent candidate and served as deputy speaker and speaker. Last week, he was admitted to a hospital due to some health issue and now he was feeling well after being discharged from the hospital.

To a question over his plan to contest in the upcoming elections, he said that he would take the final decision after consulting his family, political like-minded friends and the people of his constituency.

He, however, said that if his family and like-minded political friends encouraged him then he would plan to contest on National Assembly seat NA-271-Lasbela-Gawadar constituency in the 2018 elections as an independent candidate.
