KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Sindh leader Haleem Adil Sheikh admonished on Tuesday the rulers of the province for not providing justice to rape-murder victim Saima Jarwar of Larkana.

Sheikh criticised the government while visiting Saima's house, along with other PTI leaders to offer condolences to her father Naseem Jarwar and other relatives. The PTI leader assured the aggrieved family that the party would play its role to ensure that justice is meted out to them.

The delegation was reportedly sent to the victim's house by PTI Chairperson Imran Khan. He also directed the party leaders to continue raising their voice for justice in the case.

Speaking with Sheikh, the relatives claimed that doctors had been pressurised to issue a false postmortem report to weaken the case. They also claimed that some Pakistan Peoples Party leaders offered them Rs200,000 in return for stopping their protest, which they refused.

The family decried that the government had assured them that the culprits would be arrested but the promise was not kept. The minor girl was murdered after being raped but the rulers are unmoved, the family said.

Sheikh told the media that PTI leader Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi had also spoken to the relatives and offered condolences to them, assuring them that the party would make all efforts to ensure justice to them.

Those who chant slogans of 'Bhutto is alive' have forgotten the people of Larkana, said Sheikh. He lamented that no minister or adviser contacted the parents to offer condolences. Saima was also a daughter of Larkana like Benazir Bhutto, the PTI leader remarked, adding that people would not forget the rulers' apathy.

The Sindh government has failed to provide protection to children due to which crimes against children are rising in the province, Sheikh alleged, adding that the PTI was very concerned over such a grave situation.

The PTI leader said Nisar Khuhro, Faryal Talpur and Sohail Anwar Siyal frequently visited Larkana but they did not bother to see the bereaved family. He added that people would reject such insensitive rulers in the coming general elections. Sheikh called for doling out justice to all oppressed irrespective of their financial status.

The PTI fully shares the pain of Saima's parents, Sheikh said, adding that the PTI would not sit idle until the bereaved family received justice.
