KARACHI: Sindh Police claimed on Wednesday to have nabbed the prime suspect in the gang rape of a Hindu boy from Thatta.

Arbab Ibrahim Memon of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) is the chief accused. The rape, which took place in Darro Town of Sajawal district, was videotaped and proliferated online much to the chagrin of the public.

Speaking to The Express Tribune, a senior police official said they were investigating whether the motive behind the rape was personal enmity. "All three men involved in the case have been arrested," he claimed.

Taking notice of the incident, PPP Sindh president Nisar Khoro removed Memon as tehsil secretary general. "Such incidents will not be tolerated at any cost," said Khoro. "We will ensure the boy gets justice."
