Cop killed in chase as smuggling suspects held

A police constable was killed after being struck by a speeding car while signaling it to stop near Maymar Morr on the SITE Superhighway. Police later chased the vehicle and arrested two suspects allegedly involved in smuggling.
The suspects - identified as Agha Jan and Naseem - were transporting a large quantity of smuggled Indian gutka, mawa, and betel nut (chhalia) from Balochistan to Hyderabad.
The deceased officer, 36-year-old Abdul Mannan, a resident of Sachal Goth and a father of four, hailed from Sakrand area. His body was sent to his hometown after funeral prayer.
SHO SITE Superhighway, Sub-Inspector Chaudhry Nawaz, stated that a police mobile unit was conducting routine checking at Maymar Morr when they signaled a suspicious white Corolla (BH-7505) to stop. Instead, the driver hit the constable and fled the scene.
Police pursued the car and attempted to intercept it, but the suspects again tried to escape by colliding with the police mobile. The police eventually managed to block and stop the vehicle. Upon searching the car, officers recovered a large quantity of smuggled gutka, mawa, and chhalia.
