Prosecution told the court that accused Akhtar Hameed was arrested by Anti-Narcotics Force

FAISALABAD: Additional Sessions Judge Ghulam Rasool Chaudhry awarded a life sentence to a drug pusher for possessing narcotics in Faisalabad.

The prosecution told the court that accused Akhtar Hameed was arrested by Anti-Narcotics Force for possessing 18 kilogrammes of hashish near the Toll Plaza. The accuased was handed over to police and a case was registered against him.

After hearing witnesses, the judge awarded life imprisonment to Akhtar.

In addition, the court imposed a fine of Rs100,000 on the accused. In case of failure to pay the penalty, the convict will have to undergo an additional year of imprisonment.

Earlier, Additional District and Sessions Judge Ikramul Haq awarded life imprisonment to a convict for killing a man in Sargodha. Convict Jamshed had shot dead a passerby Kamran during a clash with his opponents.
